His Educational Life

Kwesi Arthur bagged his secondary school certificate from Tema Senior High School , he was unable to continue his education to the tertiary level at the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) as a result of-financial constraint. He wanted to became a security guard at some point to make sure he put food on the table .

His Music Career

Kwesi Arthur got inspired to become a rapper after which he listened to drake’s song titled ‘thank me later’ that became a stepping stone for kwesi for what he has become today. The tall young rapper hit his limelight after dropping Grind Day Remix featuring Sarkodie and Medikal produced by Kayso. “My whole rap career started after listening to Drake’s ‘Thank Me Later’. Let’s say it was the stepping stone to what Kwesi Arthur is today. Big ups to Drake. Maybe I’ll get to thank him later.  About Ground Up Charle, I dunno if I should call it a movement but for me, it is more of a family.”

According to him, he never expected his songs to receive massive airplay and recognition from social media users.

“We just put the song out because it felt good. When we did the song for the first time in the studio, it was good. So we compiled it on an EPP, live from Nkrumah Krom. After releasing, most people were saying this song is hard so we started pushing it and we shot a video for it”.

During the interview, he admitted that fame scares him

“It gets really uncomfortable sometimes like when you are just walking in the streets and someone stouts, ‘Kwesi Arthur, what’s up’, because it comes with it,” the Ghanaian singer said.

“If I get it cool, we will continue working because that is not our limits, not why we are doing this. But if we get it the accolades makes it good,” Arthur concluded on his VGMA nomination.
