The Federal Government has earlier revealed that it has plans to increase the force to 650,000, adding 280,000 new recruits to the existing 370,000. A new revelation was made that it will be recruiting 30,000 officers to increase the force. The Nigerian Police Force said it was seeking approval for the recruitment of 30,000 policemen nationwide before the end of this year, aimed at beefing up security in the country. It also made it known that arrangements were on to construct 500 housing units in each state of the Federation to bring to an end the problem of accommodation shortage by the personnel of the force most especially after retirement from service.

“This statement was made by Deputy Inspector General DIG in charge of north-west zone, Maigari A, Dikko when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Abubakar Bagudu at the Government House”.

“On une 28 2017, The Nigeria Police Force has announced to the general public the commencement of 5th regular course examination into the Nigerian Police Academy, Wudil”.

“According to a statement issued by the FCT Police Command spokesperson, Usen Omorodion, on Wednesday, it states that the selection of applicants into the academy in Abuja has been cheduled for July 8. It also said that the venue for the 2017 selection exercise in Abuja is Powa International School, Area 11, opposite Force Headquarters, Abuja”.

The examination will commence by 7 a.m.

Applicants are advised to be present at the venue before 7 a.m because late coming will not be entertained. Candidates are to leave their mobile device at home because they are not allowed to be in possession of their phones inside the examination hall.

The Police Service Commission (PSC) is inviting application from suitably qualified candidates into the force. The categories enumerated below are available ;

  • Cadet Inspector of Police
  • Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police
  • Police Constable

 

NPF Requirements for Cadet Inspectors of Police

FOR BOTH SPECIALISTS & GENERAL DUTY
Candidates must have at least 1 of the following from a reputable Polytechnic or College of Education:

OND, NCE, or their equivalents.

 

NPF Requirements for Police Constables

FOR BOTH SPECIALISTS & GENERAL DUTY
Candidates must have at least 5 credit passes in WAEC or its equivalent in not more than 2 sittings.

 

NPF Requirements for Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP)

FOR BOTH SPECIALISTS & GENERAL DUTY
Candidates must have at least;

B.SC., B.A., B.TECH., HND or an equivalent degree from a reputable University or Polytechnic.

 

NPF General Requirements

  • Candidates must be a Nigerian by birth
  • Applicant must possess a valid identity card. It can be your driving license, voter’s card, or international passport.
  • Applicants must have a University degree or Higher National Diploma (HND).
  • Applicants must have NYSC discharge certificate
  • English and Mathematics are is a compulsory subject for candidates applying for police constable
  • Multiple application is not allowed
